Basil Tour XL Double Bicycle Bag

Basil Tour XL Double Bicycle Bag

In some cases adding bags to the rear rack of an electric bike is not as easy as buying any bicycle bag or pannier and installing it on the rack.

Some of the racks that house the e-bike battery have larger tubing that won’t allow a some bicycle bags to clip onto.

And in some cases the battery itself gets in the way of the bicycle bag clips and does not allow them to fully attach to the rack.

The bags that work well for these types of racks have two bags that have a connection piece in the center that rest on top of the rack.

Here are some bags that work with [Read more…]

~$550: Currie Technologies eZip Trailz Electric Bicycle.

Yes, I know cheap electric bikes is probably not the best title but it is a term that is commonly used to describe economical, inexpensive, or low cost electric bikes.

Guide to Car Racks for Electric Bikes

Are you looking for a good way to carry your electric bike on your car?  This can be a tricky issue because traditional bike-car racks are designed to carry non electric bikes that are generally half the weight of an electric bike.

After doing some research I have come up with a few options that will work for electric bikes.

Here is a tip: Remove the batteries from the e-bikes and transport them in your car to reduce the weight on the rack.

Be careful not to store them in the car if you are [Read more…]

Electric Bike Charging Station Guide

Recently I have received some emails from universities looking for electric bike charging station information.

This gets me really excited because I think that providing e-bike charging stations at large institutions is a great idea!

Having charging stations at universities, hospitals, airports, businesses, parks, popular mass transit stops, hotels, etc. can only encourage more people to ride an electric bike more often with less concern of running out of juice.

These charging stations can also be a great way to bring electric bikes to the attention of people who have no idea what an electric bike is.

Below are some links to [Read more…]
