eBike World Record Attempt
Ravi Kempaiah from Madison, Wisconsin is attempting to set the Guinness World Record for most miles pedaled on an e-bike.
He’s attempting a 5,000 mile ride to San Diego during which he will need to ride over 175 miles each day for weeks on end.

On a truly spectacular note, the German team behind Pedelec Adventures has just completed their USA trip after 3,100 miles in the saddle on Haibike S-duro e-bikes.

Trek Bicycle is now the official track sponsor of the Electric Bike Expo multi city test track event series!
In addition to being the track sponsor, Trek will also have their new line of electric bikes available for test ride at the Expo events.
Trek joins Bosch as one of major sponsors of the Expo series. Bosch is the presenting sponsor of the series.

The Wallerang M.01 is a new Swedish designed and built electric bike that is now available in the U.S.
The M.01 features their Modular Travel System that is a sturdy looking front and rear rack system that easily bolts to the bike frame for carrying cargo for commuting or touring.
The M.01 is also one of the few e-bikes in the U.S. to feature the 250 watt Shimano STePS mid drive with Di2 electronic shifting & Alfine internally geared rear hub. Shimano is serious about electric bikes and to make that point they recently stepped up to become the presenting sponsor of “The Circuit”, which is a new e-bike and conventional bike indoor test track at Interbike.
Interbike is the largest bicycle trade show in the Americas and it will be held this year at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas on September 16-18.

For 2015 Raleigh is jumping into the electric bike market! This is pretty big news because Raleigh is a traditional bicycle brand that has been around for a long time. They must see the future in electric bikes.
Here is a video of the new Raleigh e-bikes (Misceo, Venture, Detour, Tekoa) for the US market, presented by Larry Pizzi at Interbike 2014. The Misceo is the first bike in the US market to feature the new Shimano STEPS mid drive system:

Eurobike is the big international bicycle trade show that happens every year in Friedrichshafen, Germany and it is where a lot of the new electric bikes (and conventional bikes) are revealed.
This year the amount of e-bikes at the show was even more impressive than last year.
The director of Bosch forecasts that e-bikes will eventually make up 50% of the total bicycle market and according to Bike Europe that may occur in 2015!
