E-bikes in law enforcement?
Police departments around the USA are starting to see the benefits of e-bikes.
There have been a number of incidents when police officers on e-bikes have secured arrests where police cars haven’t been able to get to the situation as quickly.
Police Officer Benjamin Tseng of Federal Way Police Department (near Seattle WA) recounted, “in the very first week we were trialing e-bikes we arrested a wanted felon who had gotten away from officers a couple of weeks prior. When he was spotted, a patrol car pulled up and the subject quickly walked away, trying to blend into a busy parking lot. The patrol car was stuck in traffic but an officer with the ebike was able to zip through traffic and catch up to the subject and arrest him. HopMod eBike Frame Kit
There are eBike kits that can turn a conventional bike into an eBike and now there is the HopMod eBike specific frame kit.
Former BMX pro and eBike industry veteran Marty Schlesinger adds the HopMod to the Voltage Cycles line up.
The HopMod is available as a frame, frame with eRad mid drive kit, or complete eBike.

Fantic Arrives in the US
Longstanding motorcycle company Fantic is relatively new to the e-bike game, launching a couple of e-fat bikes in fall 2015 onto the European market.
Things move quickly in the e-bike world and now in fall 2016 Fantic has an 11 model collection and has also just entered the US market, setting up office in Sausalito CA.
