Frankfurt Eurobike Show Report: eCargo, Sleek Urban eBikes, Comfortable eRecumbents, & More! [VIDEO]

Eurobike later this summer is the biggest bike trade show in Europe but it can be difficult to cover everything going on because it’s so enormous.

So there are now a number of ‘pre-show shows’ specialising in particular areas to help get the message out of all that’s new and I have just attended the Frankfurt Eurobike Media Days.

This show focused on urban biking with the vast majority of the companies exhibiting being e-bike manufacturers.

My Boo Bamboo Electric Bike Frames Made in Ghana, Africa [VIDEOS]

My Boo is a company specializing in making electric bikes with Bamboo frames. 

If that doesn’t make them unusual and interesting enough they have partnered with Booomers – The Yonso Project who make the bamboo frames for their bikes in the Ashanti region of Ghana, Africa.

Riese & Müller Nevo GX Rohloff 2019 Ride Report [VIDEO]

Electric Bike Report has already looked at several Riese & Müller models – from the Homage, New Charger, Delite and Packster ranges, all based around Riese & Müller’s unique and practical yet funkily attractive frame designs.

We’ve also taken a close look at the previous Nevo model here and here. 

The Nevo design has been updated for 2019 with an inframe battery as standard and the option of a second battery mounted on the down tube.

The GX Rohloff variant is new for 2019, giving an off-road twist to the previous range that was orientated towards riding on hard surfaces and the electronically shifting Rohloff hub gears also add further gearing options not previously available to the ever expanding Nevo family. This model is priced at US $7099 GB £5319.

The off-road facet is combined with the most powerful of the Bosch mid-drives, the Performance Line CX.

Volt Axis Folding Electric Bike: Shimano Mid Drive + Gates Belt [VIDEO]

Mid-drive motor folding e-bikes are pretty rare and ones with the highly-rated Gates carbon belt drive even rarer, so it was a pleasure to check out this take on just such a thing, courtesy of UK company Volt.

From being a humble startup several years ago, Volt are now one of the most widely distributed e-bike brands in the UK.

Whilst this has been based on affordable yet good quality hub motor machines in the past, the fruits of Volt’s collaborative efforts with Shimano are now bearing fruit in the form of this funky looking mid-drive e-folder, the Axis.

The Volt Axis is priced at £2999.00.

Priority Embark Electric Bike Review Part 2: Ride & Range Test [VIDEO]

After many miles of testing the Priority Embark it has proven to be a fun and lively eBike with a smooth and quiet ride style.

Like other Priority bikes it has a focus on being low maintenance so you can focus more on enjoying the ride. 

The drive system combination of the new quiet Bosch Active Line Plus mid drive with the Gates Carbon Drive belt, and enviolo CVT hub is a big highlight of this eCommuter.

The Priority Embark is priced at $3,999 and that includes shipping and assembly from Velofix or a local bike shop.
