Haibike Radius Tour Electric Bike Review Part 1 – Pictures & Specs

The Haibike Radius Tour is a compact touring and commuter style eBike with a sporty 500 watt Yamaha mid drive motor!

This is not a fully folding eBike but it does have ways to make it quickly more compact for easy storage and transport. 

Some of the highlights are a hydroformed aluminum frame, Yamaha PW system, Shimano hydraulic brakes, Schwalbe balloon tires, full accessory package, and more!

New Bosch eMTB Mode w/ eMTBs from Moustache, Lapierre, BULLS, Cannondale, Riese & Muller, KTM, Trek, IZIP, Haibike

Every year Bosch, Magura, and other bike companies get together in Sedona, AZ for the Magura Ride Camp to show off their latest products to journalists from all over the US.

This was the 13th annual Magura Ride Camp and it was good timing for the launch of the new Bosch eMTB mode!

eMTB mode automatically adjusts the Bosch power modes (Tour, Sport, Turbo) based on your pedal power so all you have to do is focus on your riding. Set it, forget it, and ride!

You can learn more about eMTB mode in the video below with Jonathan Weinert from Bosch.

New eBikes from BESV, BULLS, Raleigh, Yuba, Haibike at the Sea Otter Classic [VIDEOS]

This year there were many new eBikes to be seen and ridden and there was also the 2nd annual Haibike electric mountain bike race epowered by Bosch.

The Sea Otter Classic is a celebration of cycling with racing (road, mountain, cyclocross, eMTB), rides, exhibitors, test rides, music, food & drinks, and more. It is held at the famous Laguna Seca Raceway near Monterey, California.

eBike News: Internally Geared Motors, eMTB Racing, Battery Tech, eBike Boat, & More! [VIDEOS]

bike_mit_komponenten-2Panasonic 2-speed Mid-drive Now Award Nominated 

Of the various e-bike contenders for the Dutch based 2017 Fiets Awards one caught our eye.  

The speed pedelec FLYER U-series utilises a 2-speed Panasonic motor with manual and automatic switching options; in theory this should give a much wider range of speeds over which the motor can operate efficiently, which could in theory mean greater range, greater climbing ability and more assistance at speed.

Panasonic and Flyer class it as a ‘world-first’ so it will be interesting to see just how it fares at the awards.
