Carrying Cargo: Old Man Mountain Sherpa Rack & Chrome Barrage Pannier

I’ve recently been riding the Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 HPC SL eMTB as an all around eBike for off road and on road adventures, commuting, and errand running. 

It has also been a good test eBike for a number of accessories that enable it to be a great do-it-all eBike. 

Carrying cargo is an important part for adventure rides and running errands around town. 

A good combination of gear for carrying cargo on this full suspension eMTB is the Old Man Mountain Sherpa Rack with Chrome Barrage Pannier.

eBike News: Endless Lifespan Battery, New eBikes, Top eMTBs, Safer Bike Lanes, & More! [VIDEOS]

Bike Europe reports that MIT and Samsung have partnered to develop a new solid electrolyte lithium battery that has the potential for an endless lifespan, improved capacity (range), and it could be significantly safer than the current technology. 

Because it uses a solid electrolyte there would be “nothing to burn” and the cost to transport lithium batteries could be reduced.

New Electric Bikes from the Birmingham UK Cycle Show

Having been to the trade and press day of the UK’s Birmingham Cycle Show for the past three years it was interesting to see an explosion in the number of electric bikes present.

There were more European firms especially keen to get in on the action of an apparently burgeoning e-bike scene.

Taking centre stage were the e-bike motor manufacturers, namely Bosch and Shimano, each with their own stand, making it clear the resources they were putting into a nascent UK market.
