Time for more Interbike (largest bicycle tradeshow in the US) coverage of electric bikes!
This part of the coverage has a lot of focus on the electric cargo bike scene at Interbike. There are videos from Xtracycle (including an award from Outside Magazine), Yuba Bicycles, Juiced Riders, and NTS Works.
Lightweight carbon fiber electric bikes! Diavelo has developed the Au2Bahn Carbon electric bike that they claim is the worlds lightest (14.5 kg or 32 lbs) speed pedelec (45 km/h or 28 mph). Looks like a high tech ride!
The LA Times reports that electric bikes are estimated to generate $10.8 billion a year in worldwide revenue by 2020, up from $8.4 billion in 2013. Also e-bike awareness appears to be on the rise; cool!

Yes, San Diego is a hot spot for bikes. So of course, it’s even hotter for E-bikes. With many E-bike shops here in town, and several of the major E-bike companies headquartered here or nearby in Orange County and Los Angeles, you know they are popular. Electric bike range is a common concern among e-bikers and I would like to offer some tips that will help you make the most of your electric bike ride. Some of these tips are obvious but I have thrown in some additional tips that may help you add a few more miles or kilometers to your e-bike range.
Recently I was at Bike Expo in Munich Germany and it was great to see the electric bike scene in a country that is leading the way in e-mobility. It was impressive to see how many bike brands now have electric bikes. The growth of electric bikes reminds me of the days when mountain bikes were just becoming popular.
