Women’s Specific eBike Launched by California’s Karmic Bikes
The Karmic Kyoto is being targeted specifically at women and it has just gone live on Kickstarter.
Karmic say “Kyoto is built from the ground up for women and a clean-sheet design—with a price tag as low as $1799 for early backers, a $1000 savings off the $2799 retail price.”
The new Kyoto uses Shimano’s STEPs mid-drive with an 11 speed derailleur system and unusually sized 650 x 38c tyres and is offered in three frame sizes. It also uses the larger recently launched 500Wh STEPS battery mounted to the seat tube of the frame for central weight distribution. Zach Krapfl is passionate about efficient modes of transportation and energy conservation and his recent TEDx presentation in Paonia, Colorado is very educational and entertaining.

Amazon Prime starts superfast deliveries by e-bike
German Amazon customers can now take advantage of superfast e-bike delivery (within two or one hours of ordering) if they live in Berlin or Munich.
The e-bike aspect of the service was rolled out in Berlin in the spring and has just become available in Munich.
Two hour delivery is free, whilst the one hour service costs 6.99 euros and is based around the ‘Prime Now’ app, available, of course on most devices and platforms, which allows you to track real time delivery (though there is a minimum order of 20 euros for the Prime Now service). New eBikes
Specialized will expand its Vado road range for 2017. They will now use the same Brose mid-motor as their e-MTB Turbo Levo range.
The Turbo Vado will pack a 500Wh battery whilst the Vado Comp will use a 600Wh pack and is a speed pedelec version (for the purposes of European law at least).

As the E-Bike Cycle Tourists have clearly discovered over the past few months, it is amazing what can happen if you persevere at a passion in life for long enough.
Take our ongoing world e-bike long distance ride as a classic case in point.
Not even in our wildest dreams did we ever expect to be still pedalling our Haibike xDuro Trekking e-bikes 15 months and 25,700 kilometres after setting out from London in April, 2015.
Basically the goal was to better the existing world e-bike long distance record of 16,047kms, have a great time exploring mainland Europe and the UK and then head back to Australia after 12 or so months.
