BULLS Launches New Electric Bikes in the U.S. at E-Bike Expo Events

December 24, 2015 by Pete 4 Comments

E-Stream FS EnduroBULLS eBikes is a popular German brand that is launching their e-bikes in the U.S. market at the Electric Bike Expo events in 2016!

BULLS is bringing a line of e-bikes that are good for almost any type of riding: commuting, touring, mountain biking, sand or even snow riding.

Their e-bikes use either the Bosch mid-drive system or the Brose mid-drive system; an all new drive system to the U.S. market.

BULLS bikes are engineered, designed, and tested at their headquarters in Cologne, Germany. They have been in the electric bike market since 2010, mainly in the continental European market.

A number of the new BULLS eBikes will be available for a test ride at the Electric Bike Expo events in early 2016. Phoenix in January, San Diego in February, Houston in March, Palo Alto in April, Portland in May, and Denver in June. This will be a great opportunity to test ride the all new BULLS eBikes and talk with BULLS company representatives.

Below is a look at the full BULLS eBikes line that will be available at bike dealers later in 2016. The bike descriptions are from BULLS eBikes.

Cross Lite E

The Bulls Cross Lite E has proven an excellent hybrid for both touring and light-unpaved roads in Europe. The model is built around a lightweight 7005 aluminum frameset with a mid-engine drivetrain set-up. The Cross Lite E achieves a 100% battery recharge in just 3.5 hours making it one of the fastest charging eBike batteries in the market.

The BULLS Monster E S has united all of the innovations that have been successful in the past. An improved Bosch mid-engine offers pedal-assist for speeds more than 15mph.

A 120mm fork travel is offered to help get over those bigger obstacles and maintain traction. Thru-axles offer the rider an extra rigid feel improving the handling.

No matter how awful the weather conditions are, you can always depend on the Schwalbe Jumbo Jim Snake Skin Tires which are 4 inches wide to maintain traction through difficult terrain.

120mm of travel combined with the snappy 29r wheels for maximum traction on difficult terrain help the new BULLS Twenty9 E FS RSi dominate any trail. The flatter approach angle of the e29r MTB rolls over small obstacles such as stones and roots with ease.

A remote lockout is placed on the bars to quickly alternate the fork between rigid and an open position. Through the use of a 12mm thru-axle the 29 inch wheels receive even more rigidity. Noticeable advantages are more accurate turns and stiffer handling.

Shimano Deore brakes are utilized to ensure smooth braking in even the most extreme conditions. An 11-speed rear Shimano XT set-up is used giving you plenty of gear range no matter where you are.

I’m hoping that these ebike prices follow the development and marketing pattern set by large flat-screen TV’s that started out very expensive, then settled in to pricing affordable to all. If these bikes continue to be priced at the $2,000 to $5,000, (and higher), price point, only the affluent will be able to afford them, defeating a large reason for developing them in the first place!

There are also LOTs of kits, some for well under $1000. Of course you get what you pay for… but these kits will at least get you on the road and might be a way to use an old bike sittin’ around in the garage.
