Virtue Pedalist: The Car Like Electric Trike [VIDEO & PICS]

Well, Virtue Cycles has the answer with their Pedalist semi-enclosed electric trike.

The Pedalist is an upright (not recumbent) e-trike with an enclosure that looks somewhat car-like.

E-Bike Battery Factory Tours in China: Tianneng, Phylion, & Lishen – Part 3 [VIDEOS]

IMG_5461During the ExtraEnergy and China Bicycle Association e-bike factory tours we had the opportunity to visit 3 major e-bike battery companies in China.

Here’s a little intro to each company that we visited.

Tianneng Battery claims to have 40% market share for LEV & e-bike batteries. They make a lot of lead acid batteries but they are in the process of expanding their lithium battery production.

Phylion Battery claims to be the second largest lithium battery pack supplier for the electric bike market in Europe. They have a cloud based diagnostic tool that helps them troubleshoot battery issues remotely.

I’ve spent most of the last 30 years clipped into bikes designed to do a few things well: go fast, handle well and be comfortable enough to ride for hours every day.  The riding positions of those bikes become the new normal.
