Lectric XP Review: Summary

There are plenty of different bikes, and brands in the ebike space, but not all of them have been as successful as Lectric has with their first bike, the XP. The $900 price point, mixed with a top speed of 28 mph definitely caught our eye, and the team at Electric Bike Report was super excited to try out the XP.

Throughout our testing we realized what a cool bike the XP truly is, and we believe that Lectric did a phenomenal job with their first bike. The Lectric XP exceeded our expectations and we believe this bike could be life changing for some consumers.

The Lectric XP e-bike is a budget-friendly folding bike currently priced at less than a thousand dollars. This ebike is equipped with burly 4” wide tires, a twist throttle, and an adjustable top speed of 28mph. You can get the Lectric XP in white, or glossy black which includes matching fenders, a rear rack and padded saddle. This is Lectrics standard version of the XP, it’s also available the Lectric XP Step-Thru version for the same price.

The XP also has integrated front and rear lights for safety and visibility, and a handlebar mounted LCD display that shows battery level, current speed, pedal assist level, and trip distance. On top of that, the 500W hub motor and LG battery are extremely strong and offer a solid range of 25-45 miles. The XP also folds in half, and the handlebars fold down so you can throw it in a car trunk or on a bus. Our team was thoroughly impressed with the XP, the features you get for the price you pay is hard to beat.

The RadMission 1 is a smooth-riding, great-priced commuter-oriented ebike equipped with 500 watts of power and is ideal for those who want to commute to work or cruise around town efficiently while still getting exercise.

We discovered the RadMission 1 is extremely efficient with its battery usage during our testing and provides the rider with enough power to get up steep hills despite only having one gear. You’re going to notice how lightweight this bike is and how fast it rolls compared to other budget level ebikes. The pedal assist on this bike engages smoothly and feels quite natural below you, which is great because some ebikes take over with the assist they give.

Rad Power Bikes has developed the RadMission 1 in two different frame styles, a Mid-Step, and a High-Step frame. A wide range of riders can fit on the RadMission 1 comfortably because of the two frame sizes. One of the most important accessories for an eBike is the lock, especially because of how many different factors you need to consider. Simple, inexpensive locks are easy to carry around and install, but are very easy to break and don’t do much to deter thieves. In this Spec Review, we’ll take a look at the components and specs to get an idea of design, quality and functionality of the CUBE 20” Sport.

The CUBE 20” Compact Sport ebike is an updated model from CUBE, a European ebike company with over 10 years experience in the ebike industry. This sporty bike features innovative geometry that maximizes rider comfort but maintains a small frame size for convenience. The 20” wheels keep the wheelbase low and the step-thru frame is easy to get on and off while the telescoping handlebars and seat post make it adjustable for different size riders.

There are lots of compact bikes available with folding features that maximize functionality while minimizing frame size. CUBE has included the Speedlifter Twist handlebar adjuster on the stem which allows the handlebars to be raised up or drop down. The Speedlifter has another trick up its sleeve: flip the lever and you can twist the bars round so they’re parallel with the frame. This is a real bonus if you have limited storage space at home or at work.

The Sondors Fold XS is a folding Class 2 ebike (Class 3 optional) with playful fat tires, a low wheelbase, telescoping handlebars and a powerful 750watt Bafang rear hub motor with responsive cadence sensor, twist throttle, and 80Nm of torque. The Trek Verve+ 3 is the newest model in Trek’s lineup of hybrid electric ebikes. The Verve+ 3 is designed for around town riding, recreational city riding or extended commutes. Trek has long been an industry leader in both traditional bikes and ebikes with an extensive lineup of options for all different riders. The Verve+ 3 brings the comfort and components of the Verve+ 2 with a few key upgrades for extended range. Priced just under $3000, this motorized city ebike is patterned after the traditional 10-speed bikes we all grew up riding! It has a streamlined frame that doesn’t look heavy or cumbersome and boasts three different color options. You can get the Verve+ 3 in either a traditional high-step frame or opt for the step-thru frame which is easier to get on and off. The Verve+ 3 has a 250watt Bosch motor and an integrated 500Wh battery; however, Trek has added the option of a second supplemental battery that attaches to the downtube for added range. This dual battery system will take you twice as far without having to stop for a charge. The Purion bike computer keeps track of your ride metrics, speed, distance and battery life. This bike has just enough kick to get you quickly and easily to the local cafe, bakery and library.
