Lapierre Overvolt E-MTB’s & Riding with the Bosch Director [VIDEOS]
The Lapierre Overvolt FS900 full suspension electric mountain bike with Bosch mid drive system.
Lapierre is a French brand that is bringing their Bosch powered full suspension (FS900) and hardtail (HT900) electric mountain bikes to the US market for 2015.
I had a chance to ride the FS900 with Claus Fleischer, the director of the Bosch e-bike division, at the Interbike Outdoor Demo mountain bike trails.
The FS900 did an excellent job of handling the rough trails at Bootleg Canyon and it was a great way to get to know the director of Bosch; on the trails!
Claus said that he is excited about everything e-bike; from the sport style electric road and mountain bikes, to the commuter/touring bikes, to the utilitarian cargo bikes. He believes that e-bikes enable more people to enjoy a bike ride.
And for those that think that electric bikes are cheating, Claus says “how can you cheat on fun?”. Well put!
Checkout these video interviews with Claus at Eurobike and hear his thoughts on the future of the Bosch systems and e-mobility in general.
Now, let’s checkout the Lappierre e-mtbs.
These Lapierre e-bikes are designed by Nicolas Vouilloz, a 10 time world champion downhill mountain bike racer.
The FS900 is the full suspension e-mtb with 140mm of front and rear travel and it is priced at $5,500.
The HT900 is their hardtail that features similar components and is priced at $4,500.

In the following video Stephane Lapierre was on hand to give us details of the Lapierre Overvolt e-bikes. This was at the Interbike Charged Up E-Bike Media event from earlier this year.
