Super Magnum – Olympia’s E-trekking Bike

Major Italian bike and e-bike brand Olympia have just announced the new Super Magnum e-trekking model. If features the new torque sensor-equipped Ananda M81 mid-drive. Olympia say ‘This motor, supported by a 630 Wh battery, stands out for its compact size and very low noise….The engine is capable of developing 100 Nm of torque.’

Other features include hydraulic disc brakes, Shimano Alivio 9-speed transmission, adjustable handlebar stem, wide profile Schwalbe Super Moto tires, front suspension fork and suspension seat post.

The bike retails at 2569 euros.

Olympia appeared in many e-bike news sites in spring 2020 when it launched a series of e-bikes with huge 900Wh in frame batteries.

The RadMission 1 is a smooth-riding, great-priced commuter-oriented ebike equipped with 500 watts of power and is ideal for those who want to commute to work or cruise around town efficiently while still getting exercise.

We discovered the RadMission 1 is extremely efficient with its battery usage during our testing and provides the rider with enough power to get up steep hills despite only having one gear. You’re going to notice how lightweight this bike is and how fast it rolls compared to other budget level ebikes. The pedal assist on this bike engages smoothly and feels quite natural below you, which is great because some ebikes take over with the assist they give.

Rad Power Bikes has developed the RadMission 1 in two different frame styles, a Mid-Step, and a High-Step frame. A wide range of riders can fit on the RadMission 1 comfortably because of the two frame sizes. Tern Go High Speed With New HSD S11

Tern’s new HSD S11 is its first high speed e-bike

Tern have announced their first Class 3 e-bike and it’s coming to the U.S. market first. The HSD range are mini-cargo bikes and the HSD S11 features the Bosch Performance Line Sport motor, which allows the bike to reach assisted speeds of up to 28 mph. The Performance Line Sport boasts 65 Nm of maximum torque and boosts the rider’s pedal input as much as 300 percent to create a smooth – it is a moderated version of the most powerful Bosch speed pedelec motor, the Performance Line Speed. The HSD S11 has an MSRP of $4,199 (U.S. dollars) and will arrive at U.S. dealerships in January 2021.

Motorized trips dropped by some 80% in Los Angeles since the March Covid restrictions were introduced leading to a huge rise in levels of cycling and e-biking.

2020 has been a hugely tumultuous year for the world and for e-bikes too. March 16th has been tagged as ‘the week the world shut down’ with what seemed at the time as dire consequences for the majority of industries. However, with many countries declaring bike shops as essential service and allowed to stay open, and city authorities soon putting place cycle-friendly measures in place to encourage cycling as a means of socially distanced transport and lockdown exercise things began to change as far as e-bikes were concerned. They represented just one small but vital tool in helping societies around the globe to keep healthy and keep functioning in dire and tragic circumstances.

One of the most important accessories for an eBike is the lock, especially because of how many different factors you need to consider. Simple, inexpensive locks are easy to carry around and install, but are very easy to break and don’t do much to deter thieves. You can buy something that’s very secure, but the downside often comes from a very expensive price tag, the overall weight, and the difficulty that comes with trying to install it.

Please note: Before we dive into our review of the KBO Breeze, we want to make our readers aware this is a new type of review for us at ElectricBikeReport. KBO is a new brand that just launched this year.

This is the start of reviews we’ll be doing for newer brands looking to launch their e-bike lineups.

However, we want to make sure our readers understand this is not an endorsement of the KBO brand. We’re reviewing the bike as it was shipped to us in hopes it gives you an idea of how the brand is approaching the market.

We think KBO has done nice things with this bike and are excited to see how KBO performs in the future. We wish them the best of luck and hope they make it in this very fragmented and growing market!

Summary Review: KBO Breeze

The KBO Breeze is where budget friendly meets nice power and exceptional looks! With a top speed of 28mph, and a motor capable of 900w of peak power, we found the Breeze to be a comfortable, powerful, city cruiser/commuter ebike. Given this is KBO’s first ebike, we were pleasantly surprised at how well the bike was put together out of the box. For a bike under $1,400 we found decent, name brand components and we didn’t have to do much adjusting to the brakes or drive train – all good signs for budget-level electric bikes.

Overall, we feel the Breeze will check a lot of boxes for somebody looking for a capable commuter electric bike. We thought the Breeze was a blast to ride, and provided a good riding experience that falls somewhere between performance and leisure.

Oh, and we have to mention again how we really think that KBO did a great job with the paint job. The Breeze is a great looking bike!

After many fun and exciting years of building the Electric Bike Report community, the time has come for me to move on to new adventures in the electric bike world.

It has been a pleasure to get to know all of you and to take part in the growth of the industry since founding electricbikereport.com in 2010.

As the electric bike world continues to flourish, I look forward to seeing electricbikereport.com evolve and progress along with it.

After careful consideration, I chose to hand over the future of electricbikereport.com to new owners. The incoming team is very excited to bring their experience and knowledge to the eBike industry. They have 10+ years of experience managing various review websites in the outdoor/fitness industries, and they plan on investing a lot of time and additional resources into growing electricbikereport.com.
