The Puckipuppy Poodle aims for a very clear target. This bike seeks to provide all the hallmarks of a dutch-style commuter at the $1000 mark – While this is a relatively simple goal, that certainly doesn’t make it easy. The reality of value eBikes is that there is going to be compromise. It’s extremely difficult to nail down a perfect product at this price point, and while cost-effective options are getting better and better, working within the confines of a budget still presents a challenge. The question becomes about where compromise was made.

This is one of the hardest parts of producing a budget eBike; brands have to choose what to prioritize. Typically, my belief is that fundamentals should be king. Options in this range don’t need to be perfect, but they should get the basics right. It seems like the Poodle shares this philosophy. The bike is equipped with a 750W motor, 720Wh battery, hydraulic disc brakes, and a whole host of accessories. Numbers like that aren’t always seen in the budget segment, and a glance at the spec sheet suggests that Puckipuppy knows their audience.

Pedal AWD S Review: Dual 1000W E-Moto Tested

Yes, really. This bike has tons of power, range, and style – with a big caveat.

The Pedal AWD S is not a subtle bike. It has striking moto-inspired styling, dual 1000W motors, and one of the largest batteries we’ve seen. There’s no doubt, it’s an attention-getter.

Pedal actually made headlines when NBA star Luca Doncic purchased over 100 units from the brand – he then gifted them to Lakers players and staff. Apparently, the bikes were a hit.

So, if you’re an L.A. Laker, you already know what it’s like to ride this dual-motor powerhouse. Don’t worry – if you didn’t make the team, we have you covered.

Tern HSD P10E Review: A Compact Cargo E-Bike That Can Replace a Car

Traffic is everyone’s least favorite thing. Standstill backups are never fun, but I can specifically remember a time when I missed a turn while trying to navigate the maze of New York City. It felt like I was trapped in a game of Tetris – gridlock everywhere.

I can also remember watching cyclists cruise past in the free-flowing bike lane. Clearly, they were going faster than I was. It seemed like a good solution, but not for me; I had a trunk full of my grandparent’s groceries, and while I knew about utility/cargo bikes, I assumed they were good for small stuff. A pizza or single bag seemed reasonable – but a whole haul didn’t feel practical.

What I didn’t understand at the time was that some cargo bikes can actually function as a replacement for a car. The Tern HSD P10e is one of them.

Like many modern cargo bikes, the HSD is capable of a full grocery load, or even a passenger. The 419 lb payload, 250 W mid-drive motor, and a 545 Wh battery all indicate that this bike has the goods for real utility. However, while the key fundamentals are present, the HSD is actually even more impressive as you dive into the details.

Automatic shifting, app connectivity, and a whole host of custom-made parts are just the tip of the iceberg. The attention to detail is the story here – this bike is impressively well thought out. Canyon’s Precede: ON Comfort 7 has you covered.

This is a cruiser style E-bike with a 250W motor, customizable pedal assist modes, and a 625 Wh battery. It also features class 3 capability, a Shimano Nexus Belt Drivetrain, and app connectivity. The Precede does have many of the traits of a modern E-bike. However, as I spent some time with it, I understood that this bike is more than just another entry into the E-crusier market – It’s a bridge between the conventional and the new frontier.

A Comfortable Cruiser E-Bike Packed With Tech | Troxus Trax Whim IQ Review

One of the recent topics of conversation here at the Electric Bike Report office has been about the blinding pace of technology. It’s almost difficult to comprehend how modern innovations are even possible – now commonplace tech was considered the stuff of fantasy not long ago.

Of course, Ebikes are no exception. A few years ago, electric assist itself was a radical innovation. Now, we’re seeing more and more modernization packed into Ebikes.

The Troxus Trax Whim iQ is a prime demonstration of what I’m talking about. This cruiser style Ebike has all of the necessities; a 500W motor, 5 PAS levels, a 672 Wh battery, and so on. However, some brands are exploring a new frontier of digital ingenuity – and Troxus is one of them.

The “iQ” in this bike’s name signals that it features smartphone connectivity. From the app, riders have access to security features, ride tuning, statistics and more. Comfort cruising is only half of the package here – tech and customization are also a priority.

However, more technology isn’t always better. The extra features seem great, but my question is this: Does the Whim IQ still have the magic of a more traditional bike? We took the bike through our comprehensive testing to find out.

A Fat Tire Folding E-Bike That Doesn’t Break the Bank | GoTrax F3 Review

The F3 is a budget-friendly fat-tire folder that’s built for exploring.

I’ve recently had the privilege of reviewing multiple Ebikes from GoTrax – namely, a few of their folding Ebike options, the F2 and Efold. These bikes packed impressive value for money and a stripped down approach that honed in on basics, not extras.

While I thought the fundamentals-first mindset served these bikes well, there’s no denying that some riders prefer some extra niceties on their Ebikes. GoTrax knows this, too – and they have a bike that just may deliver on that front.

The GoTrax F3 is a fat-tire folding Ebike for riders that want something in the middle of value and luxury. These riders want some added creature comforts, but at a reasonable price; they’re not looking for filet mignon, but they’d like something better than a fast-food burger.

The F3 is equipped with a 500W motor, 672 Wh battery, and hydraulic disc brakes. It also has class 2 / 3 optionality, 5 assist levels, and a torque sensor. Fat tires work with the front suspension to deliver a smoother ride, and several extras are included.

In other words, it offers more than the Efold and F2. However, this bike’s little brothers are less costly, and lighter.

So, can this bike meet the high bar that the other GoTrax folders have set? Additionally, does the F3 have the performance to hang in with other fat-tire folders? We put it through our real world tests to find out!

I think there’s something about moped style Ebikes that captures the little kid in all of us. The look, the attitude, the fun; it brings me back to being a middle schooler who was obsessed with anything that had wheels.

The Macfox X7 is a perfect example of this. As I cruised on this bike, I actually heard a group of 8th graders exclaim “Dude, that thing is sick!” and just like that, I felt like the coolest kid in town.

There’s no doubt that the X7 has the cool factor, and anyone can appreciate that. But, it is our job to review Ebikes here at Electric Bike Report – so I had to grow up and ask myself the question: Is the X7 actually good, or is it just stylish?

The Kingbull Literider 2.0, despite its name, is in the latter category. This is a fat tire folder for riders that want adaptability and niceties while still gaining some of the benefits of a folding Ebike.

This bike is truly multifaceted. It has the fixings for comfort, utility, and convenience; a 750W hub motor, 150lb capacity rear rack, and class 3 optionality make this a jack of many trades. But is it a master of any of them?

You know that feeling when something just clicks? Maybe it’s when you crush a drive perfectly down the fairway. Maybe it’s a pair of shoes that feel like they were made exactly for you. It’s hard to put your finger on… but you know it when you feel it.

That’s about the feeling I had when I first hopped onto the Euphree Stellar Falcon 2. This bike is an SUV style commuter that aims to do it all. It’s got the chops to handle city paths, light off roading, and grocery trips – all while donning an approachable, comfort-focused attitude.

A glance at the parts helps explain the immediate “click” I had with this bike. It has a 750 W motor, a 90 mm travel Suntour air fork, and a customizable ride feel. This is a good recipe already, and it gets better when you consider the suspension seatpost and knobby Schwalbe tires. We’ll get into more detail, but put simply, the components are good. However, as important as specs are, they only tell half the story.

GoTrax Efold Review | A Bargain for Everyone

This focused folder is one of the most affordable Ebikes we’ve ever tested.

We’ve had the chance to test several bikes from GoTrax here at Electric Bike Report, and one of the company’s recurrent strengths has been providing good value. Their bikes are remarkably affordable, even compared to other options in the budget segment. And yet again, bang for buck is the theme – currently at $498, the GoTrax Efold is no different.

The mission of the Efold is simple. This is a bike that promises portability and practicality with no frills; it’s very focused. The headlines are a 350 W hub motor, folding capability, and five pedal assist modes; a great fit if you’re looking for a light, portable Ebike for short trips and errands.

However, at this price point, the question is always the same: Did they really do it? Can a 500 dollar Ebike really be worth it? Let’s go for a pedal and find out.
