The Houston Electric Bike Expo: Transportation, Media, and Fun! [VIDEO]
The Houston Electric Bike Expo was this past weekend and it made quite the impact on the Houston area!
Attendees of the Texas Trails and Active Transportation conference had a chance to learn about and ride the latest eBikes at the Expo.
TV, radio, and newspaper media covered the Expo with many good stories.
And there were many eBike smiles on and off the test track!

The Expo was held in conjunction with the BikeTexas Texas Trails and Active Transportation (TTAT) Conference that was going on during the week of the Expo.
“The biennial TTAT Conference brings together those involved with bicycle, pedestrian, and other active transportation and recreation modes from around Texas and the world. Presenters share current information and examples from the active transportation field, and spark inspiration to continue striving to make things better in each of our communities. The conference focuses on issues of economic development, health, safety, and many other topics relevant to advancing active transportation and trails. Conference attendees include those involved in the planning, construction, funding, economics, operation, management, promotion and use of bicycle, pedestrian, and other transportation modes. The conference provides breakout sessions, keynote talks and mobile workshops from experts representing municipal/state government, transportation advocacy groups, trail users, architects, landscape architects, transportation engineers, planners, and private businesses.”
Attendees of the TTAT conference were able to checkout the Expo on Friday afternoon before the Expo opened to the public. Here are a couple of posts from TTAT attendees at the Expo:

Houston Public Media was at the Expo and they put together this radio segment: “Cycling Advocates Say Electric Bikes Could Change The Way People Get Around Houston”
The Houston Chronicle was also onsite and wrote this article on “Event showcases electric bikes to relieve Houston traffic”

There were 3 electric bikes given away at the Expo! Tempo Bicycles raffles off one of their Santa Barbara or Carmel eBikes at each Expo and at the Houston Expo the local charities to benefit from the raffle were the Children’s Assessment Center, BikeHouston, and BikeTexas.
