iGO Mid Drive Electric Fat Bike [VIDEO & PICS]
iGO Electric just announced their new mid drive electric FatBike (4+” wide tires) on Kickstarter!
This fat e-bike offers a solid line up of components and features for the introductory price of $2,900 USD.
Some of the highlights are: a hydroformed aluminum frame, 350 watt MPF mid drive, 36V 12ah lithium battery, SRAM & TruVativ components, Schwalbe tires, & more.
It looks like a quality build for riding many miles on snow, sand, and rough terrain.
iGO has spent a year and a half designing and testing the FatBike and they will be assembling these bikes at their facility near Montreal, Quebec.
Here is a video of the new iGO FatBike to give you a closer look:
The central weight distribution of the FatBike looks good with the mid drive motor and the battery mounted on the downtube of the frame.
A 36V 12ah battery with Panasonic cells is a nice spec because it is a bit bigger than the traditional e-bike battery for extra range. I like the looks of the side mounting battery.
USB charging ports are becoming more common on e-bikes these days and the FatBike has one for charging your smartphone or other device.
The SRAM Guide hydraulic brakes have been getting good reviews for their stopping power and modulation.
