Pete Prebus founded Electric Bike Report in 2010 to provide a central resource of electric bike information for everyone. Pete has since moved on to new adventures in the electric bike world. Pete has nearly 30 years of experience in the cycling world. At the age of 13 he began riding and racing bikes and working as a bike shop mechanic. He raced mountain bikes for many years, including a few years of racing professionally on the U.S. national cross country mountain bike circuit. Pete’s professional work background includes more than 10 years in the structural and civil engineering field. Pete combines his cycling experience, passion for electric bikes, and the power of the Internet to promote this new form of transportation and recreation.

2017 Focus JAM² & BOLD² Electric Mountain Bikes & Extra Battery Option [VIDEO]

Focus Jam2 electric mountain bikeFocus has launched their new 2017 electric mountain bikes, the JAM² full suspension eMTB line, and the BOLD² hardtail eMTB line.

These new eMTB’s all feature the new Shimano E800 mid drive electric mountain bike system, and a few of the premium models feature the Shimano Di2 electronic shifting!

These new eMTB’s feature an integrated battery in the downtube of the frame (378 Wh) and Focus is offering an extra battery option that mounts on top of the downtube and doubles the capacity to 756 Wh.

These bikes are initially being launched in specific European markets and some of them will be available in the US in 2018.

2017 Giant Electric Mountain Bikes & Road Bikes! [VIDEOS]

giant-road-e-plus-1Giant Bicycles has launched their new 2017 electric bike line up of Full E+ mountain bikes, Road E+ road bikes, and their commuter style Quick E+.

Giant has been making electric bikes since the 1990’s and this year they are stepping things up with this new line, especially with increased distribution of their eBikes in the North American market.

Their eBikes use the Giant HCT (Hybrid Cycling Technology) drive system that is based on the 500 watt 80Nm Yamaha mid drive motor, 400Wh or 500Wh EnergyPack integrated frame battery, PedalPlus 4-sensor technology, and RideControl display & control pad with Bluetooth integration.

She jumped into the electric bike industry in Europe nearly 20 years ago when eBikes were just barely a blip on the radar in the European marketplace.

After working through the trials and tribulations of the young industry she set her sights on electric bike adventure tours to show the world what electric bikes are capable of.

With her company Pedelec Adventures, she has had amazing eBike adventures in Morocco, Mongolia, Iceland, many parts of Europe, the Southwestern USA, and a soon to be extensive trip through other parts of Africa.
