Overall Thoughts on the Ferei Headlights & Headlamps
All of the Ferei lights produced a nice beam of light. Â I used the lights on the road at high speeds as well as when I was riding on narrow, twisty mountain bike trails. Â In both conditions the lights worked very well and I didn’t have any problems seeing obstacles in my way.
For riding off road, the combination of both the headlight on the handlebar and the headlamp on the helmet was a nice way to go because I could see around corners in the trail with the headlamp and see the trail in front of me with the headlight. Â That combination also reduced depth perception problems that can happen if you only use one of the lights.
The headlight/headlamp combination also worked well on the road because the movement of the headlamp also caught the attention of car drivers.
The Ferei lights have a high quality look and feel. Â I appreciate the aluminum casing, powerful LED bulbs, lithium ion batteries, and quick release levers.
When I was commuting around town I did remove the lights because I was worried about theft. Â Since the headlights have the light and the battery separated it was a little more cumbersome than using a light that has the battery integrated into the light.
Since I used these lights for only a few months it is hard for me to comment on the long term quality.

OMG those are ridiculous expensive! I thought ebike lights were suppose to take advantage of that gigantic battery we are carrying and just plug into the main power supply…why do they need their own powersource? Were these lights even made for ebikes??
Eric says
I know where you can buy an ebike for $550 and it comes with a light connected to battery pack 🙂

Even though these lights are well made they still are insanely expensive. I think I could come up with a better solution than these lights at far less price. These lights are for a select few who have money to burn and want the highest quality.

Hi Pete
Nice review. We’ve touched base before. I also have a Jumper down under in New Zealand. I went for a Jetlites FU2 because I wanted a system without a remote battery pack. Like the Ferei, which I might add is a great looking light, the engineering is a work of art.
You may wish to review them at sometime. I think they are based in California.
The light is about the size of penlight on steroids and takes a single Lithium cell in the barrel. It pumps out an astonishing 900 lumens and come with both a bar and helmet mount.
I rode my Jumper the other evening through some bush and the place looked like the middle of the day.
Always a pleasure to jump on your website after the weekend updates..Steve
