EVELO 30 Day Electric Bike Challenge: Trade in Your Car Keys for an Electric Bike!
Would you be interested in trading in your car keys in exchange for a new EVELO electric bike to use for 30 days?
If so, then you could be a participant in the EVELO 30 Day Electric Bike Challenge.
In an effort to promote e-bike commuting and everyday use, Boris Mordkovich (CEO of EVELO), has created this challenge as a way to raise e-bike awareness and broadcast the participants experiences.
Here is the general idea: Participants will exchange their car keys for an EVELO electric bike for 30 days of use. The participants can ride the e-bike and take other forms of public transportation during this month long challenge. As part of the challenge they will blog about their experience on the 30 Day E-bike Challenge website and include pictures and video of their journey on an e-bike.
Here is a list of the current cities where the Challenge is taking place:
- Austin, TX
- Boston, MA
- Chicago, IL
- Miami, FL
- Minneapolis, MN
- New York, NY
- Philadelphia, PA
- San Francisco, CA
- Seattle, WA
- Washington, DC

Boris said they have been receiving applications from many other cities and they maybe adding more cities.
There will be competitions within the challenge too! Participants will compete with each other in the following categories for cash prizes:
- Miles ridden
- Money saved
- Fitness gains (weight loss, etc.)
- Who has the most popular/creative stories, pictures, videos.
At the end of the 30 Day Challenge riders will have the opportunity to purchase the bikes they rode for a significant discount. How much of a discount? You will have to become a participant of the challenge to find out!
Boris said that this will become an annual event, much like bike to work week. The difference is that the Challenge will focus on e-bikes and other forms of public transport.
Creative marketing efforts is not a new field for Boris. Last year he and his partner Anna Mostovetsky completed an electric bike tour across the US as a way to launch the EVELO e-bike brand.
Like the US e-bike tour, national and local media will be involved to draw attention to the event and get more people interested in e-bikes.
Boris is very open to partnering with more e-bike brands and dealers to spread the word about the challenge and ultimately to get more people on e-bikes!
Will you be a participant in the EVELO 30 Day Electric Bike Challenge? I hope so!

I ride everyday in Phoenix but that’s not on the list yet. Who needs more incentives. It’s so perfect this time of year with temps on the 70’s . Riding my bicycle past all the cars backed up at rush hour makes me laugh out loud. They are hurrying home so they can go to the gym and work out, driving to the gym and home….LOL LOL
enjoy the journey.
