Based outside Bern, Switzerland, Stromer’s e-bikes offer a glimpse of a future with fewer cars, less congested roads and thoughtfully-designed e-bikes made to conquer cities. Stromer’s e-bikes are driven by a rear wheel motor, delivering the maximum amount of torque without having to first transfer it through the drivetrain, and the company’s four battery options range from a respectable 55 miles to a whopping 110 miles on a single charge. The bikes also connect with your smartphone, allowing you to fine tune your ride and even lock the bike with the press of a button. Stromer touts itself as building the first e-bike connected to the cloud and the first e-bike with a fully integrated design, neatly hiding the battery and cables inside the frame.
Stromer has brick-and-mortar dealerships spread all over the world, with several dozen located in the United States. Unlike some manufacturers that allow you to buy a bike with a few clicks on their website, Stromer steers potential customers to test ride bikes at dealerships before buying.
