Known for slimmed-down and affordable electric city bikes, Propella’s electric bikes strike a balance between cost efficiency, good looks and fun riding. For more information on Propella, head to the bottom of this page for Propella electric bike reviews and news from the brand.
Based in Redmond, Washington, Propella was started in 2015 with the mission of integrating design and aesthetics to make lightweight and affordable e-bikes. They currently make three models, two electric commuters in single speed and geared options and the super unique (and fairly compact) Propella Mini.
The Electric Bike Report staff has had the opportunity to review several of Propella’s e-bikes and we’ve really enjoyed their simplicity and nice looks. They certainly are not the highest-spec’d or quickest e-bikes we’ve ridden, but they’re surprisingly fun. Propella’s e-bikes are very affordable, with none of them priced higher than $1,300. They’re likely a safe bet for someone’s first e-bike or for an affordable alternative transportation solution.

For bikes we get our hands on, our testers put them through their paces on our home roads and paths in southwest Utah — testing everything from braking power to battery longevity — to help you get a clear picture of what these bikes feel and look like in the real world.
