  1. I have been riding a Class One e assist mountain bike (Trek Rail) for 3 years in Arkansas and Colorado. From my experience and observation, my e MTB has no more impact than a pedal MTB. I do not believe that there is a rational basis to prohibit them on trails where MTBs are permitted. They are not noisy and do not have the torque to damage the trail surface. I have heard the argument – they go too fast. No, it is the rider who controls the speed. The speeding car does not get the ticket, the driver does. This is just another technology advance in a relatively new sport.

  2. Snow boarders faced the same predjudice back in th eighties and now the resorts would not survice withour snow boarders. Emtn bikes are here to stay – resitance is futile.
