Vanpowers was founded through a partnership between two other experienced companies in 2021. One partner, Sailvan Times Technology Co., Ltd., previously created the affordable e-bike company Ancheer and has connections to manufacturers in Asia and in Europe. The R&D team at Juln Electric Vehicle Co, Ltd., has developed e-bikes with global brands like FLX, WING, ANZIO, and others. Juln works closely with a testing laboratory to ensure that its bikes meet standards for safety and quality.
The team started Vanpowers with the mission of creating appealing, high-performance, and environmentally-friendly mobility solutions through sustainable production methods.
The brand’s first e-bike, called the City Vanture, was released in 2022 after a successful crowdfunding campaign. The bike features a unique, flat-pack design method using mortise-and-tenon construction that allows the bike to be delivered using minimal packaging. Instead of a welded, single-piece frame, the City Vanture is shipped in component sections that can be assembled professionally or by the consumer.
Currently, the brand’s lineup is small but focused; at time of writing, it consists of a handful of models consisting of city/urban e-bikes, a rugged fat-tire e-bike, and a touring e-bike.
