Energie Cycles Electric Bike Dedicated To Supporting Breast Cancer Research
The Energie Cycles 2.0t Special Edition electric bike. A donation to breast cancer research will be made for each bike sale.
This is a press release from énergie cycles.
About 1 in every 8 women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime in the US. For all of the survivors, one of the biggest challenges is getting back into shape after the surgeries, treatments and residual side effects. Riding an electric power assist bike offers a perfect way for survivors to get outdoors and set their own pace and routine. The settings allow the rider to pedal as much or as little as they want. Now énergie cycles is offering a donation towards breast cancer research with each sale of the special edition 2.0t Breast Cancer Bike.
Las Vegas, NV August 20, 2012 – Under a new ad campaign with the tag line “Exercise On Your Own Terms”, the team at énergie cycles has taken its compact 2.0t e-bike model and added the familiar High Gloss Pink color and the recognizable Breast Cancer ribbon icon to create a Limited Edition model.
In 2011, there was an estimated 230,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer projected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S. along with just over 57,000 cases of new non-invasive breast cancer. Virtually everyone has been touched by this disease either directly through a family member or indirectly through a co-worker or friend. The entire team at énergie cycles has made the commitment to help.
“With exercise being such an important rehabilitation aspect for recovering breast cancer survivors, finding ways to bring enjoyment to the routine without overtaxing the patient is paramount and power assist cycling is a perfect way to slowly build stamina and strength while escaping the indoors” said Ray Verhelst, CEO of Rechargeable Power Energy North America, the company behind the énergie cycles line.
Because Breast Cancer has struck close to a number of the team members this project is personal and developing this came from watching firsthand what loved ones have to go through as part of the cure. Verhelst added, “The recovery process is challenging after chemo and radiation and strength can be slow to return. But an electric power-assist bike lets the rider supplement the strength needed to do something as simple as ride around the block. As the rider gets stronger they can take on more of the responsibility to pedal on their own.”
The 2.0t is a compact 20” wheel bike that offers a 250watt front wheel brushless motor, powered by the company’s new 36v 16ah lithium battery pack. The front and rear wheel disc brakes offer good stopping power and the large LCD display tells the rider all of the important statistics such as speed, distance and remaining power. Riders can expect over 30 miles of travel distance on a single charge with even a minor amount of pedal support.

A built-in pedelec function lets the rider set the support level of the motor. From minimal to maximum the rider can control how much power is delivered to the wheel. This lets them pedal as much or as little and still experience fresh air and as the ad campaign states “Exercise on their own terms.”
While standard on all of the énergie cycles, the added feature of the USB port lets riders keep their cell phones charged so they can remain in touch with family members as they venture out.
The marketing team at énergie cycles will be sending its new 32ft custom wrapped electric bike demo RV out to Breast Cancer centers to meet with survivor groups to let actual Breast Cancer patients try the bikes firsthand. While doing our onsite dealer training, the vehicle will schedule stops around the country all through the year.
Besides the creation of the Limited Edition 2.0t Breast Cancer Bike, énergie cycles will be donating $250.00 to Breast Cancer research here in Southern Nevada for each bike sold directly during one of these demo events and $100 for each bike sold through our dealer network.
The entire line of premium e-bikes will be assembled here in the company’s new 12,500 square foot warehouse and production center in Las Vegas. What’s more the company feels so strongly about the quality and attention to detail that they are offering a 2-year limited warranty on everything including the battery.
The entire line as well as the Special Edition 2.0t Breast Cancer Bike will be on display in booth #40099 at the InterBike trade show starting on September 19-21, at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.
