Could Electric Bikes Kick Off a 2 Wheeled Revolution in the UK?
I just read an article from the Ecologist.org about how electric bikes could be the vehicle to start a cycling revolution in the UK. I believe that e-bikes have the potential to get more people on bikes world wide. The author of this article does a great job breaking down a lot of the benefits of riding an electric bike and even covers some of the financial incentives that are available.
Check out the article and let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.

P.S. Don’t forget to join the Electric Bike Report community for updates from the electric bike world, plus ebike riding and maintenance tips.
Ebikes are very ecological, too. Just read an MIT report comparing the lifecycle greehouse emissions of various modes of transport. Ebikes, regular bicycles and walking all had the same lifecycle emissions per mile traveled. Much, much lower than any other transportation option.

Motorcycles and scooters weren’t shown, but I’ve seen elsewhere that motocycles have somewhat higher lifecycle emissions than passenger cars. I assume scotters would be lower, but still much, much higher than ebikes.
Peter, thanks for sharing that report. That is good info. I think ebikes combine some conveniences of a car with almost all the advantages of a bike. They really are an efficient and fun way to get around.
