This is a crazy story! Worth checking out. Electric bikes take so little energy, solar charging really makes sense.
Here’s an ebike success story that I want to share with you. I really like this story because the author, Matthew Zoll, has been using an electric bike to make his commute by bicycle more convenient during the hot summer months in Tucson Arizona.
If you live in a warm climate you will be able to relate this story. In fact electric bikes work well in cold climates too, where sweating a lot can make you cold if you stop somewhere for a while.
Here are some teasers [Read more…]
Having the right pressure in your tires is important because it will make your bike easier to pedal and it will avoid pinch flats. And nobody likes to get a flat 🙂
In this video I show how easy it is to maintain your tire pressure. Included is how to use both types of valves, shrader and presta, as well as a trick to inflate the tire if the pump is giving you a lot of resistance.

After a few days of intensive testing of the Pedego Classic Crusier electric bike, I have put together this video review for you. This is a real world review based on me riding my normal commute route to work, running errands, and taking it on some steep hills and gravel bike paths. I feel like I really put the Pedego electric bike through it’s paces and I got a great handle on the pros and cons of this bicycle.

Would you like to see better bicycling infrastructure in the U.S.? Would you like to see bicycling recognized more in the U.S.? If so, then you should join me and sign the People for Bikes pledge of support. And don’t worry, it is totally free.
People for Bikes is an organization that is working towards building a massive list of people around the U.S. to show their support of bicycling.
Here are two quotes from the “Our Goals” page on PeopleforBikes.org:
“The goal of peopleforbikes.org is to gather a million names of support, to speak with one powerful voice—to let policy makers, the media and the public know that bicycling is important and [Read more…]
Recently at Interbike (the largest bicycle convention in the U.S.) I had the opportunity to meet with Don DiCostanzo, the CEO of Pedego Electric Bikes, to learn about all the new electric bikes that they are coming out with.
One of the things I like about Pedego Electric Bikes is that they have some of the more stylish electric bikes out there. Their current line of bikes are the classic beach cruiser style that a lot of people like for the looks as well as the laid back, comfortable ride.
When I met with Don he explained that Pedego’s mission was to the make the [Read more…]
Hello! I just wanted to give you a quick update on what’s happening at Electric Bike Report.
I was recently at Interbike in Las Vegas which is the largest bicycle convention in the U.S. It was a great event where I was able to check out a lot of the new electric bikes and new bike commuting gear andaccessories. I also met a lot of great people in the bike industry.
Over the next couple of weeks I will be bringing you info on what I saw and info on the ebikes that I test rode. This week I am on vacation and my wife will have a big problem with me if I spend too much time “working” 🙂
In the meantime I will continue to add some of the pictures I took at Interbike to [Read more…]
New electric bikes and gear! This week (September 21-24) I will be at Interbike which is the largest bike convention in the U.S. This is the place where all the bike industry gathers to show off the new products for the coming year. It is going to be a good show for electric bikes because there are a lot of new products as well as seminars that are focused on electric bike education.
I will be attending the outdoor demo in Boulder City, Nevada where I will be able to test ride some of the new e-bikes. I will also be attending the convention which is Wednesday through Friday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I will be there to gather as much info on the new e-bike stuff and bike commuting gear as I can and I will report back to you with what I find!
If you want to get regular updates, the best way is to [Read more…]
The Electric Bike Report gear store is here! The store has everything from stickers, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, tote bags, messenger bags, and water bottles. There is the traditional logo as well as products that have a catchy slogan intended to encourage people to “Think outside the car.”
This store will provide some revenue for Electric Bike Report, but the main purpose of the products is to spread the word about going green by ditching the car now and then for a ride on an electric bike.
Above is the “My Other Car is an Electric Bike!” t-shirt. Below are some more examples of the products that you will find in the store.
