East London’s Waltham Forest Council are funding a free local delivery service by e-cargo bike or hybrid van paid for by the paid for by the Mayor’s Air Quality Fund.

It looked to be off to a good start, with Road.cc reporting that 300 parcels had initially been delivered in three days.

eBike World Record Attempt 

Ravi Kempaiah from Madison, Wisconsin is attempting to set the Guinness World Record for most miles pedaled on an e-bike.

He’s attempting a 5,000 mile ride to San Diego during which he will need to ride over 175 miles each day for weeks on end.

He’s hoping to finish his journey at the headquarters of Stromer in San Diego. [Read more…]

News from the French alpine resort of Morzine has revealed a ‘Project Y e-bike’ with an amazingly sleek battery and motor design all in the downtube. Bixby and her human (Mike Minnick) have been traveling the US on a Yuba cargo bike to encourage pet adoption and their latest adventure is to beat the current world record for longest electric bike ride with more than 10,000 miles of riding!

They will officially kick off their electric cargo bike adventure at the Sea Otter Classic in April and then make stops at the Palo Alto Electric Bike Expo and possibly the Portland and Denver locations as well.
